Equipment overview
Built for sealed, straight, repeatable longitudinal welds.
The MISA longitudinal seam welding machine is engineered for middle and thin-wall shell production, cone body seam welding, and flat plate butt joining. When bevel cutting or milling preparation is applied, high-quality weld results can be achieved up to 12mm plate thickness.
Cylindrical & conical shells
Suitable for internal and external longitudinal seam welding of round shells, cone shells, and thin-wall vessel sections.
Metal plate butt welding
Designed for plate-to-plate joining of carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium alloy, aluminum, and aluminum alloys.
Custom lifting configuration
The lifting type model improves centerline alignment for different plate thicknesses, pipe diameters, and special workpiece structures.
Core welding technologies
Controlled heat, stable clamping, and clean reverse-side forming.
MISA combines mechanical stability, back-side support, automated parameter control, and process flexibility to produce consistent longitudinal welds with minimal deformation.
Clamping
Piano-key compress method
Forming
Single-sided welding, double-sided result
Process compatibility
The machine can be configured with multiple welding processes according to material, thickness, penetration requirements, and production duty cycle.
TIG / Hot Wire TIG
GTAW for precise, clean seam welding.
MIG / MAG
GMAW for productive industrial joining.
PAW
Plasma arc welding for focused penetration.
SAW
Submerged arc welding for heavier duty seams.
Hybrid Welding
Custom combined process packages for specialized materials and performance requirements.
Piano-key compress method
The piano-key clamping structure presses the workpiece evenly along the seam line. This provides excellent heat dissipation, reduces thermal deformation during welding, and helps maintain high-quality straight seam geometry.
Back-up liner forming system
With a copper or ceramic back-up pad system, welding can be completed from the outside surface while achieving reliable forming on both sides. Front and reverse surfaces can both obtain stable, high-quality appearance.
Key systems and functions
Automated control from clamping to seam tracking.
Each system is configured to support stable production, repeatable weld parameters, and consistent plate alignment.
Fully automated control
Touchscreen and PLC or CNC control support programmable welding parameters for speed, voltage, current, and wire feeding.
Pneumatic or hydraulic clamping
Rigid workpiece clamping works with copper or ceramic backing to prevent burn-through and improve weld pool control.
Seam tracking system
Laser or optical seam tracking sensors align the torch in real time and compensate for plate positioning deviation.
Modular customization
Machine dimensions, clamping layout, welding process, lifting function, and tooling can be customized for specific workpieces.
Efficient cooling mechanism
Water-cooled or air-cooled welding torches help manage heat during long continuous seam welding operations.
Engineered for production review
MISA supports project-specific seam welding solutions for plate thickness, material type, shell diameter, weld process, and fixture requirements.
